While in the Navy he completed a one-year AEGD (Advanced Education in General Dentistry). Dr. Sittason separated from the Navy in 2004 in order to pursue his interest in pediatric dentistry. After working one year as an associate in a pediatric dental practice in Corpus Christi, Texas, he returned to school to earn his Certificate of Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio in 2007.

What is a pediatric dentist?
Pediatric dentists are considered the pediatricians of dentistry. They specialize in dentistry that is devoted exclusively to children. This requires an additional two to three years of training beyond dental school. Specifically this training focuses on growth and development; child psychology; medical complications; treatment of children with special needs; trauma and orthodontics. These extra years of training prepare pediatric dentists to meet the unique needs of your child.

Dr. Pyle

Keith Pyle, DDSReceived his D.D.S. from the Medical College of Virginia in 1997. He completed a one-year AEGD (Advanced Education in General Dentistry) in 1998 with the Bureau of Naval Medicine. Dr. Pyle practiced general dentistry for four years in the U.S. Navy and four years as an associate in private practice in Lynchburg and Virginia Beach. In 2006, he returned to school and in 2008 earned his Orthodontic Specialty Certificate from The University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

What is an orthodontist?
An orthodontist is a specialist in dentistry who straightens teeth and aligns jaws and must complete two to three years of specialty training following dental school. Straight teeth help an individual to effectively bite, chew and speak and contribute to healthy teeth and gums. Properly aligned teeth and jaws may alleviate or prevent physical health problems. An attractive smile is a pleasant “side effect” of orthodontic treatment, from which people of almost any age can benefit.
